I’m the bald one with tattoos but I’m actually really friendly and not as scary as you might think so don’t be afraid to come over and talk to me!

I was your typical globo gym meathead for many years whilst working a 9 to 5 corporate job that I hated!  I was the guy who stood on the squat platform doing curls in the mirror whilst wishing for my guns to grow and thinking of reasons to skip leg day!

In 2011 I took a leap of faith and quit my corporate 9 to 5 job and turned my passion for training and fitness into a new career and have never looked back.  I started initially with boot camps in 2011 which I continue to run today and I then found the CrossFit training methodology in 2013 which resulted in me ditching the bicep curls and calf raises for Olympic lifting, weightlifting, gymnastics and the different functional movements.

I was hooked. As much as I enjoyed training it had become fairly boring after years of doing the same workouts over and over.  CrossFit changed all of this for me, I now had new skills to learn, numbers too hit, new movements to master and the goal of competing in this sport at some point in the future.

This new found passion for CrossFit led to the opening of CrossFit Forth Valley in 2013 in Alloa which we then moved to Stirling in 2014.  I love the fact that with CrossFit you never run out of goals, you can always move better, be faster and get stronger.  There is nothing else like this out there which keeps me wanting more and to get more out of our clients.  I can see the passion I have for CrossFit in all of our clients and love working with them to help them achieve their goals.

This shared passion has led to an amazing community at CFFV.  We get to work every day with likeminded individuals doing something we love.  We encourage all our members to push each other and work together to achieve their goals and every single person who joins us does this.  It is the community that makes CFFV what it is and we thank all of our members who help make this happen!

I have always had an interest in fitness, doing bootcamp and kettlebell training for years and was initially attracted to CrossFit without even realising it.  I trained with my friend Neill in his garage at the time, and he wrote down the Workout we were going to this day on a wee whiteboard and we set to it……. 50mins later we finished, having never felt so challenged whilst training I asked where he got the workout from and he said it was a CrossFit Workout he saw online and there were hundreds of different ‘WODs’ on there….. This was my first exposure to CrossFit, and looking back now and I was hooked there and then, I had never been pushed as hard through a training session and loved the feeling. So much so that I knew I wanted to further my knowledge and get myself qualified as a CrossFit trainer and work in a CrossFit affiliate. Mikey, Neill, Fraz and myself have become great friends and we have a laugh every day we are in which makes this never feel like work!  Now my passion in life is to share my enthusiasm for a healthy and fulfilling life with as many people as possible!

I enjoy training others and love seeing people change for the better. They step through the doors of the gym one person and in a matter of weeks they are improving out of sight both physically and mentally.  As a trainer, I believe it is about finding triggers for each individual person and once this is achieved, observing their determination to progress at CrossFit makes my job even more worthwhile. Every time you walk into our gym you see people with smiling faces that are ready to attack a WOD with you. The no quit mentality is contagious. Everyone gets through it together and becomes better because of it. CrossFit builds mental toughness and nothing comes close to the sense of community we have here at CrossFit Forth Valley.

Hi I’m Fraser and I pride myself on my massive back. I’ve been involved in the health and fitness industry for a number of years and currently hold a level 2 CrossFit Trainers qualification. My love for CrossFit evolved whilst studying to become a Physical Education Teacher. I was instantly hooked by the community ethos, friendly environment and positive mind set CrossFit instils. The continuous variation of movements, rep ranges and time demands was like nothing I had ever experienced in the gym before. From then on all I wanted to do was expand my knowledge of this incredible strength and conditioning methodology. I quickly booked onto complete my level 1 CrossFit Trainers qualification and set out to share my new found passion with as many people as possible.

After training in CrossFit for over a year I began taking classes at my local affiliate in Alloa. It was then that my professional career took a U-turn from PE teacher to full time CrossFit affiliate owner. I followed my heart and joined my friends in expanding their current gym into larger facility in Stirling. From the day we opened my goal was to create a place that nurtured, encouraged and catered for all levels of ability. A place of values above all else a culture of mutual respect in the pursuit of personal excellence. In doing so I believe we have created a community of friends who motivate, encourage and bring the best out of every single person who enters our gym.

As a coach at CrossFit Forth Valley there is no better feeling than seeing a friend achieve something they never thought was possible. Being witness to those times and that boost in self-confidence will never get old. For me personally seeing my mum achieve the things she told me she never would is remarkable rewarding. Over the space of a 7 months she has lost 2 stone in weight and looks fitter, healthier and happier than ever before.

Moving forward as a CrossFit coach my goal is to help everyday people realise their true potential. I want to take ordinary individuals and transform their health and wellbeing.

Hi, I’m Elaine. I’m unlike the others as I’m the female one with a brood of 3 girls. My road to becoming a Level 1 Certified Crossfit Trainer is somewhat different as I had taken a career break to have a family and at the same time, my commitment to fitness disappeared. It was about 1 year after the birth of my 3rd child that I decided it was time to get fit and went to my first ever 6.30am bootcamp class (Neill’s) and from that moment on, I knew I had found fitness again and would definitely be back.

I trained at Neill and Trev’s bootcamps for years and when they started to introduce Crossfit WODS, I knew I was even more hooked and had found something that I was passionate about. I wanted to learn new movements, get fitter and stronger and to set myself goals. I loved the idea of testing yourself in Benchmark workouts to evaluate your progress. I also realised that I loved to see other people achieving goals and getting fitter and stronger so when the boys opened Crossfit Forth Valley, I booked in to do my level 1 Qualification.

I love to see the athletes in classes pushing hard and exceeding their expectations, getting that first pull up or box jump, or beating their previous time or score. I also believe it’s my job as a parent to show my kids how to become strong and healthy. By recruiting our children into Crossfit, we can help with the fitness of future generations. My girls love to attend the kids classes with Fraser which have helped with their strength and fitness for other sporting activities such as gymnastics, athletics and football.

I love training alongside others at the box and also to take part in competitions. Thankfully, one of the benefits of being over 40 is that I am now in the Masters Division. My favourite movements would have to be pull ups and handstand push ups. In the future I would love to do my Gymnastics Certification and in general will continue to learn and develop my knowledge and understanding of Crossfit in order to progress and to help others.

I first discovered CrossFit whilst studying at college. My lecturer thought it would be great fun to watch us all suffer through 100 thrusters for time, with 5 burpees on every minute. This was one of the best (and worst!) workout experiences I had ever encountered and, from then on, I was hooked. I joined CFFV shortly after its opening in Alloa and, as the community grew and moved to Stirling, I then became part of the coaching team.

The atmosphere at CFFV is amazing, it is such an encouraging and friendly environment. I believe CrossFit is truly a community based exercise program which can be tailored for everyone. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than having the ability to help others achieve their goals and become a better version of themselves both physically and mentally.

I am a Level 1 CrossFit instructor, level 2&3 certified fitness coach and personal trainer.

I have a wide ranging experience in fitness through my previous career within the Royal Marines commandos and now in competitive CrossFit.  I served 4 years in the Royal Marines and after finding and following the CrossFit training methodology I decided to take a new career path.  I opened CrossFit Forth Valley in early 2013 and turned my passion into my career.

My goal is to help individuals to make long term lifestyle changes.  I believe that CrossFits scalable workouts and commitment to functional movements makes it the best program for people of all ages and abilities.

CrossFit and its metholdogy has completely changed the way I view fitness and I believe everyone should give it a go and see for themselves, it really is for everyone!
